I must diverge from the normal political discourse to write a quick review of the restaurant I went for my birthday last night...Eleven Madison Park. Adam Platt in New York Magazine rated it as the top restaurant in NYC and I can not disagree with him. Here are some of my key highlights:
- Amazing service that is impeccable. It was my birthday and they greeted me to a "Happy Birthday Gregg!". Doesn't not seem like a big deal but it just shows the detail they go to. Service doesn't seem stuffy either for such a fine dining place is just so cool.
- Wine list is out of the world and sommelier was just spot on and so knowledgable. Helped us pick
- Small amuse bouche and other small appetizers were prepared immaculately and tasted SOOOO good!
- Four course meal is just great and words can not do it justice.
- Getting the duck next time.....you just have to see how it looks when it comes out.
- Any food allergy is integrated seamlessly and without making you feel weird about it
- Ambience as the sun set and the place got darker was so cool
- Love the homemade egg cream!
- Chef walked around to each table (we were lucky he stopped by twice) and greets everyone. Just such a nice touch
I am a real foodie and the experience of going to these places will always live deep in my heart forever.
I want to thank the most amazing woman in the world for making that dinner happen last night!!
Stay cool NYC!!
